Renewable Energy for Business

With energy bills continuing to rise, more companies are realising the benefits of choosing a renewable energy source. The Government is keen to support this greener agenda and reduce our dependancy on fossil fuels. Here are some examples:

  • Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP)

Sited on the roof or ground, air source heat pumps extract and harvest heat from the outside air. The ASHP unit then efficiently upgrades it to the appropriate temperature for use in the building’s heating, ventilation and water requirements.

  • Combined Heat Power (CHP)

Combined heat and power (cogeneration) is the simultaneous production of electricity and heat from a single fuel source. This integrated energy system can be modified to the needs of the end user, recovering the heat normally lost in electricity generation for use in cooling, heating etc. CHP systems can operate at more than 80% efficiency, providing power where needed.

  • Solar Photovoltaic (PV)

A method of generating electrical power by converting solar radiation into direct current electricity, using semiconductors that exhibit the photovoltaic effect. As demand increases, the manufacturing of solar cells and photovoltaic arrays has advanced considerably. This method generates electricity in more than 100 countries, and is the world’s fastest growing power-generation technology.

  • Ground Source Heat Pump (GSHP)

Extracting heat from the ground for use in the building’s heating, ventilation and water requirements, a GSHP solution is a highly efficient option, ideal for any commercial property including schools, universities and hospitals.

  • Solar Thermal

These technologies utilise heat from the sun to offset the water heating demand of a building. The solar collector absorbs heat from the sun and transfers it to a working fluid, which is transferred to the hot water tank. Due to the intermittent nature and seasonal dependency of the solar resource, additional heating is supplied by a conventional heating source.

  • Rainwater Harvesting

As the world’s population grows, demands on mains water continue to rise. Coupled with the demand for companies to reduce their environmental impact, rainwater harvesting is increasingly sought after by both the general public and commercial organisations. By capturing, storing and reusing rainfall, our clients can save thousands of pounds each year on water bills.

Trust Ambivent

From our base in central Northamptonshire, our qualified technicians and engineers have serviced clients nationwide for more than 30 years.

We value outstanding customer service above all else. Unlike some of our competitors, we employ our plumbers, heating & ventilation engineers, electricians and air conditioning installers directly. This allows us to achieve a consistently high standard of quality control and reliability for our customers.

Ambivent Facilities Management has consulted for and installed many renewable energy projects, and each of our HVAC services have renewable elements available.

Various grants and financial incentives are available to support renewable energy. For further information on how this can improve your business, get in touch.
